Background
Carly Podolsky is the Director of Operations at RECO Island, the network's medical detox program. She oversees the behavioral health technician team and keeps the operations rhythm steady so that the most vulnerable phase of recovery — detox — runs the way it needs to.
Originally from New York, Carly earned her Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Miami after relocating to South Florida, then spent the early part of her career in advertising and out-of-home media. After completing RECO's program herself, she joined the team as a BHT and rose through Shift Lead and Supervisor to her current role.
Approach to Care
Detox is not a moment for unstaffed gaps or inconsistent care. Carly's leadership philosophy is built around that reality. She trains the BHT team to be the steady presence clients need at 3am, between meetings, and during the small disorienting moments of early recovery.
She leads with compassion and reliability, two non-negotiables for a medical detox setting. Every operational decision — scheduling, staffing density, handoff protocols — flows from a single question: what does the client need to feel safe enough to keep going?
Education & Credentials
Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, University of Miami. Carly's path into addiction recovery work began with her own experience as a RECO program alumna — a perspective that informs how she leads a team supporting people through the same vulnerable transition she once made.
What to Expect
From the moment a client arrives at RECO Island, they're surrounded by a team that has been trained, supervised, and supported by Carly's operational systems. The result is what detox should feel like — medically safe, emotionally held, and consistent from one shift to the next.
