Jacqueline Simon — Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Clinical Team

Jacqueline Simon, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Nine years of psychiatric and addiction nursing, including the VA Medical Center and Caron Treatment Centers — clinical settings where the bar is high.

Background

Jacqueline Simon brings 9+ years of psychiatric nursing experience to RECO Island's medical detox program. Her clinical history includes Caron Treatment Centers — a nationally recognized addiction program — along with the VA Medical Center, Fort Lauderdale Hospital, and Easter Seals. The addiction-treatment depth specifically prepares her well for the psychiatric needs of detox-level patients.

Approach to Care

At RECO Island, Jacqueline's psychiatric care is calibrated for the detox setting. Many patients arrive with psychiatric conditions that have been masked or destabilized by substance use; her job is to begin appropriate psychiatric stabilization while detox medical care is underway.

Education & Credentials

Jacqueline holds her BSN from Florida State University and her MS in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from New York University. She is board-certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Her clinical history includes Caron Treatment Centers.

What to Expect

RECO Island patients meeting with Jacqueline will find a psychiatric provider who takes the substance use context seriously, who doesn't rush medication decisions during the volatile detox window, and who lays the foundation for the psychiatric care that will continue beyond detox.
